Virginia Beach, VA (January 27, 2026) – A serious single-vehicle accident on Baker Rd near Pirata Pl in Virginia Beach sent two people to the hospital Sunday morning after their car struck a tree, briefly trapping one of the occupants.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m., prompting the dispatch of multiple emergency units, including Rescue 924, Engine 7, Ladder 7, and Battalion 100. Responders arrived to find the vehicle upright but heavily damaged from the impact. One of the passengers was temporarily trapped inside due to how the car had come to rest, requiring coordinated efforts from firefighters to free the individual safely.
Both the driver and passenger were assessed on scene as basic life support (BLS) patients. One was able to exit the vehicle and walk, while the second remained inside until EMS crews brought in a stretcher for transport. EMS personnel reported favorable access and initiated medical support and transportation procedures without delay.
Battalion Five established Baker Road Command as teams worked to ensure the safety of those involved and manage the scene effectively. Authorities have not released additional details about the cause of the crash or the current condition of those injured.
We hope for a full and swift recovery for both individuals involved.
