
Newport News, VA (October 14, 2025) – A hit-and-run incident left one person injured early Monday morning after they were struck by a vehicle near the intersection of 16th St and Wickham Ave. The crash occurred shortly after 1:20 a.m. and involved a white GMC that fled the scene without stopping.
Emergency responders from Newport News Fire arrived promptly to assist the victim, who had sustained injuries to the face and arm. The individual was treated at the scene, though the full scope of their injuries has not yet been made public. Officials confirmed that care was administered immediately and additional medical support was provided as needed.
Law enforcement secured the area to begin a preliminary investigation while emergency crews continued to assist the injured. The vehicle involved was last seen heading away from the crash site, and no arrest has been reported.
