Fairfax County, VA (July 23, 2025) – One person has died and several others were injured in a four-vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon on the Capital Beltway near Braddock Rd. Virginia State Police responded to the scene of the deadly collision at approximately 3:10 p.m.
The crash involved a Toyota Tacoma, Scion XB, Honda Civic, and Ford F-150. Upon arrival, emergency responders found extensive damage and a chaotic scene, including one vehicle overturned and positioned across the divider separating Express Lanes from regular travel lanes. Paramedics treated multiple victims at the scene, transporting at least three individuals—one with serious injuries and two with non-life-threatening conditions—to area hospitals.
Tragically, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved, pending notification of family. Police noted that the current fatality count may rise depending on the recovery status of the injured.
Images from the scene show the violent aftermath, including a crushed Scion XB and debris scattered across multiple lanes. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with law enforcement examining potential contributing factors such as speed, driver behavior, and road conditions.
This marks the second fatal collision reported in Virginia in just a few days, following a separate deadly crash in Newport News over the weekend.
