
Suffolk, VA (October 18, 2025) – A major crash involving multiple vehicles caused serious injuries and disruption Thursday night along I-664 northbound near the College Dr Exit 8A in Suffolk. The incident occurred at approximately 9:16 p.m., prompting a large-scale emergency response from Suffolk Fire and Rescue, who were alerted to reports of possible entrapment and severe trauma.
Radio dispatch indicated that as many as five vehicles were involved in the crash, with at least one vehicle overturned and multiple individuals potentially injured. One caller described seeing blood on the roadway and reported that someone might have been trapped inside a damaged vehicle. Medic 11, EMS 21, and Battalion 2 were among the units dispatched, along with additional support due to the high-impact nature of the crash. At least one patient was confirmed injured, though officials have not disclosed how many people were involved or the extent of all injuries.
Traffic was significantly affected as rescue crews conducted extrication operations and administered on-scene care. Northbound lanes near Exit 8A remained restricted for an extended period while authorities worked to clear debris and manage traffic flow. Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation to determine what led to the crash, but no official causes or identities have been released.
